Joe’s Career

-Joe has earned twelve #1 Country Hits including “Home,” “Pickup Man,” “Third Rock From the Sun,” “Bigger Than the Beatles,” and most recently a European #1 hit in 2008 with “Long Gone Loner,” a duet with Slovakian artist Peter Dula and the Rowers.

-Joe has earned over twenty top 10 singles.

-Joe has released ten studio albums and sold over six million copies.

-Joe has penned many songs for other artists including Tim McGraw, Tracy Lawrence, Conway Twitty, Hank Thompson, and Jo Dee Messina for whom his composition “My Give a Damn’s Busted” went #1.

-Joe has won a Grammy Award, CMA Awards, and was once honored as Humanitarian of the Year by the Country Music Broadcasters.

-Joe is a member of the Grand Ole Opry

-Joe has recently signed with Rounder Records.  His first project for the label is a bluegrass album slated for an early 2010 release, marking the first time Joe has recorded a bluegrass project since his days as a member of Special Edition, the band he was with prior to moving to Nashville to become the country star he is today.  Artists who appear as guests on the project include The Grascals, Rhonda Vincent, Alecia Nugent, Bradley Walker, and Sonya Isaacs.

-Joe has recently re-recorded twenty of his biggest hits and placed them on a new CD entitled The Ultimate Collection.  The CD will be released on October 20th, 2009 on Rounder Records.  The CD is the largest collection of Joe Diffie hits ever assembled in one package and features a bonus track of “Long Gone Loner.”

-Joe recently recorded his first ever live CD, “Live at Billy Bob’s,” featuring 18 songs including guest appearances by Joe’s father, Joe Diffie, Sr. on a cover of “Folsom Prison Blues,” and his son Parker Diffie on a duet of the Little Feat classic “Willin’.”  “Live at Billy Bob’s” will be released on the Smith Music label on November 17th, 2009.
